Facilities at Fishing Station Cottage

The property has a large double bedroom and a twin room.  There is a refurbished bathroom upstairs, separate shower and toilet downstairs, sitting room featuring a log burner and the most amazing views over the bay and a separate lounge with large open fire. The large open plan eating kitchen has an electric induction hob, electric oven, and an oil fuelled Raeburn stove which also runs the central heating.  Water is heated by an electric immersion heater and/or the Raeburn.  The property has quite a steep staircase and is therefore unlikely to be suitable for those with significant mobility impairment.

Outside there is ample parking for cars (and boats or trailers if required) a log shed with free logs to burn on the woodburner, BBQ, and plenty of open space for lazing about on those summer days.  The log shed also provides secure storage for bikes, canoes and all that outdoor holiday kit you take with you.


The property has a washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and outside washing line.  We provide sheets, towels (bath and hand), dishtowels, logs, kindling and oil.  Dogs are allowed in the property on payment of a weekly cleaning charge of £15, downstairs only, not on furniture and not in the sitting room please. 


Local amenities include Laide Post Office (www.laide-postoffice.co.uk) 1mile away selling 24 hour petrol, newspapers and food.  There is another shop in Aultbea 4 miles away and the local tourist shops are located in Gairloch about 12m away.  Our nearest restaurant / pub is the Ocean View Hotel about 2 miles away. There are coffee shops, specialist food shops, and garages nearby.  It is understood that Tesco deliver locally although we prefer to support local businesses.  The nearest large supermarkets are Inverness, Dingwall and Ullapool.


There is free wifi.  The property also receives reasonable mobile phone signal.
